The 2022 Ford Explorer's exterior style sets it apart from the crowd. It is available in the Base, XLT, ST-Line, Limited, Timberline, ST, Platinum, and King Ranch trim levels. Engine (Power)

Two engines are available to power this potent SUV. The first engine is a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder generating 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The second is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 providing 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Both come attached to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

The base engine makes the run from zero to 60 in 6.8 seconds, while the V-6 does the same in 5.3 seconds. The 2022 Ford Explorer can tow up to 5,000 pounds with the base engine and 5,600 pounds with the V-6. It has 18.6 cubic feet of cargo area in the rear, with 87.8 cubic feet of total cargo space, including the seating area. It has an extremely smooth ride for an SUV, thanks to its unified multilink strut suspension system. The 2022 Ford Explorer has a driving mode system that makes traveling over all sorts of terrain easier. The modes are Normal, Sport, Eco, Slippery, Trail, and Tow-Haul.
