2022 Ford Maverick

Ford offers the Maverick in XL, XLT, and Lariat trims. Additionally, there's an available FX4 off-road package. Available on the XLT and Lariat trims only, the FX4 package includes equipment and performance features for any off-road adventure. Features include underbody skid plating, all-terrain tires, stylish 17-inch wheels, hill descent control, and mud and sand driving modes.

The Maverick is available with a couple of engine options. The base engine is a hybrid that includes a 2.5-liter inline-four engine and an electric motor with batteries. This hybrid engine produces 191 horsepower. Drivers can choose to fit the Maverick with a 2-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that produces 250 horsepower. This larger engine includes an eight-speed automatic transmission and features front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive.

The Maverick features several drive modes, such as normal, eco, slippery, sport, and tow/haul. Hybrid versions of the Maverick sport front-wheel drive and a continuously variable transmission. According to early estimates from Ford, hybrid Mavericks get approximately 37 mpg combined, which is impressive for a pickup truck. Mavericks with a gas engine and front-wheel drive get 26 mpg combined, while all-wheel-drive models get 25 mpg combined. In addition, drivers can enhance gas engine models of the Maverick by adding off-road and towing packages. The bed of the Maverick is 54.4 inches long and can carry up to 1,500 pounds of gear and cargo items. Other bed features include covered storage bins and 10 tie-downs for larger cargo. Ford also offers available bed upgrades, including bed lighting, aluminum rails, and an AC outlet with 110 volts. Drivers can also customize this sporty pickup truck by opting for toolboxes, bed extenders, kayak racks, and a special made-to-order tent for camping trips. If you're looking to haul trailers or larger items, the Maverick hybrid features a tow rating of 2,000 pounds. Gas engine models have a tow rating of 4,000 pounds when equipped with a tow package.

With room for up to five passengers, the Maverick sports plenty of headroom and legroom to keep everyone comfortable and relaxed during commutes or road trips. The cozy interior of the Maverick comes equipped with comfortable cloth seating, tons of storage bins, an 8-inch touch screen for information and entertainment, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, the standard rear under-seat storage compartments can accommodate a variety of items and gear for any drive. Available interior features include power-adjusted bucket seats and heated seats.
