Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport is available in one of four trim levels. The entry-level trim is the Base, which is followed by the midrange Big Bend. The Outer Banks trim provides luxurious comfort, while the Badlands offers off-road features. The Premium Package adds all the upscale bells and whistles. It's also available in a wealth of colors including Eruption Green Metallic, Atlas Blue Metallic, Hot Pepper Red, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver, Area 51, Alto Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Cactus Gray, Cyber Orange, and Oxford White.
Engine (Power)
The first three trim levels — the Base, Big Bend, and Outer Banks — are driven by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that is capable of generating 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. The Badlands trim nets you a 2.0-liter turbo inline four-cylinder engine that kicks out 250 horsepower with 277 pound-feet of torque to back it up. Regardless of which engine and trim level you choose, your powertrain will be matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You also get standard all-wheel drive with every model.
Performance
The latest Bronco Sport is built on the Ford Escape platform, which gives it a smooth, car-like performance with smooth steering, control, and cornering, with the off-road capabilities of the heavier Bronco built on top. It excels at off-roading, with features like adjustable drive modes right from the base level. The Badlands trim features an upgraded four-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip rear differential, tow hooks, terrain-specific G.O.A.T. drive modes, and Trail Control, which is essentially cruise control for off-road rides. The Bronco Sport can handle up to 2,200 pounds of towing capacity when properly equipped.
Interior
The cabin design is elegant and comfortable, and even from the Big Bend trim you get available Convenience Package features like heated mirrors, front seatback cargo pockets, and an available leather-wrapped steering wheel, plus wireless device charging. The upscale Premium Package offers leather-trimmed upholstery and a heated steering wheel. Depending on the trim level and packages you choose, other available features may include satellite radio, full smartphone integration, a household-style power outlet, and an available 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Safety Features
The Bronco Sport is equipped at the Base level with the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of advanced driver aids and active intelligent safety features including front crash mitigation, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alerts, and automatic high beams. With the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package, you can augment the safety features with adaptive cruise control plus speed limit recognition traffic sign reading, lane keeping and centering, evasive steering functions, and GPS navigation.
