A 2023 Ford Expedition being packed by a family.

5 Impressive Features of the 2023 Ford Expedition

Among SUVs, the luxurious 2023 Ford Expedition sets itself apart from others with its Intelligent 4WD and outstanding performance, leaving few places off limits. Regardless of how long the journey is, this vehicle's sophisticated cabin is more than ready to accommodate with seating for up to eight passengers and advanced entertainment options, while its advanced driver-assist features help lead the way. There's obviously a lot to love when it comes to this SUV, though these five features are particularly impressive. 1. The Adaptive Cruise Control When you find yourself on long road trips and want to relax a bit, the Adaptive Cruise Control is sure to be appreciated. This convenient feature lets you pick a speed for the vehicle to stay at, just like any other cruise control, but where it differs is that it can also adjust that speed as needed to adapt to traffic changes in front of you, which can help give your foot a rest as it controls braking and acceleration. 2. Seven Selectable Drive Modes While the Expedition's available Intelligent 4WD is certainly impressive, there's also the Terrain Management System, which offers up to seven different drive modes to enhance your adventures. When shifting out of Normal mode, you can switch into Sport when cruising around cities or on highways, Tow/Haul if you have a heavy trailer behind you, Eco when you want to conserve fuel, and Grass/Gravel/Snow for more demanding terrains. 3. Infotainment on a Large Screen Providing both entertainment and navigation assistance virtually everywhere you go, Sync 4 is a cloud-based infotainment system that can enhance every drive. With its available 15.5-inch touchscreen, the system allows you to watch videos, ask for directions to your next destination, listen to music from a variety of different sources, and adjust vehicle settings. You also have your choice of controlling all of this with either your fingers or your voice, thanks to its advanced voice recognition software. 4. An Automated Parking System To make parking simpler and safer, this edition also offers Active Park Assist 2.0, a feature that can automate much of the parking experience for you. After you've found a suitable space that's available, this system can then maneuver the vehicle into that space by controlling acceleration, braking, and steering. Best of all, it can help you exit the space as well when you're ready to leave with its Park Out Assist function. 5. Multi-Zone Perimeter Lighting If you've ever gotten out of a vehicle at night to check on something, you know just how difficult it can be without a flashlight, which is why Exterior Zone Lighting is available. With this feature, which comes standard in select models, four zones of lighting help illuminate the Expedition's perimeter. Using an app, it can be turned on and off all at once or one zone at a time, depending on your needs. Versatile, luxurious, and ready for both highway road trips and journeys off the beaten path, the impressive 2023 Expedition sets a new standard for all other SUVs to follow. To see what else helps distinguish this SUV from the rest of the pack, come take a look at it in person by visiting us today at Medford Motors.

A vehicle radiator.

3 Signs Your Ford Needs a Radiator Repair

Your engine's health depends on your Ford's efficient cooling system to control the heat in the engine compartment. Excessive heat buildup can result in major, even fatal, engine damage. The radiator is a vital part of this cooling system, and any wear or damage will inevitably cause problems for your car. These are a few signs that you need to visit your Ford dealer for a radiator repair. Damaged Fins The front of your radiator is converted into rows of thin aluminum tubes that provide a large surface area for cooling. The heat from the engine is captured by liquid coolant flowing through your engine. The coolant is pumped into the radiator where it separates into the tubes. Air flowing in through the radiator grille passes over the tubes and removes the heat via heat exchange. The tubes are delicate and can be easily damaged by grit, sand, or any other hard objects drawn in through the radiator grille. As more tubes are bent or otherwise damaged, the surface area for cooling is steadily reduced. Once enough tubes have been damaged, your radiator won't be able to cool the hot coolant, and your engine will overheat. We may be able to repair the tubes, or we'll replace the radiator to fix this problem. High Engine Temperature The temperature gauge on your dash is invaluable, as it provides an early warning of overheating. When your engine is running, the heat level inside it will rapidly build up and the cooling system will intervene to control the rising temperature. When your engine is working correctly, the temperate reading should hover around the center of the gauge. You may see a sudden spike in engine temperature when you accelerate or if you're towing a heavy load and driving uphill. This spike should drop as the cooling system speeds up to compensate. Should you see the temperate gauge rising for no apparent reason, you could have a radiator or cooling system problem. We advise calling us ASAP, so our technicians can investigate and fix the problem. Coolant Leak Coolant plays a vital role in your engine, as it's responsible for capturing the excess engine heat and removing it from your engine. This liquid continually flows through the engine at high speed and under high pressure. Coolant can easily reach temperatures of 300 F before it's cooled in the radiator, and these temperatures can eventually result in wear and tear in the cooling system. The two obvious signs of a coolant leak are a steadily increasing engine temperature and a pool of blue, pink, green, or yellow fluid underneath your car. If you're experiencing either of these problems, we advise calling our service department ASAP so we can trace and repair the leak. If your engine temperature is too high, call us immediately at Medford Motors!
