The Taylor County Lions Maple Festival is a much-anticipated event that takes place annually in Medford, WI. Your engine's health depends on your Ford's efficient cooling system to control the heat in the engine compartment. Excessive heat buildup can result in major, even fatal, engine damage. The radiator is a vital part of this cooling system, and any wear or damage will inevitably cause problems for your car. These are a few signs that you need to visit your Ford dealer for a radiator repair. Damaged Fins The front of your radiator is converted into rows of thin aluminum tubes that provide a large surface area for cooling. The heat from the engine is captured by liquid coolant flowing through your engine. The coolant is pumped into the radiator where it separates into the tubes. Air flowing in through the radiator grille passes over the tubes and removes the heat via heat exchange. The tubes are delicate and can be easily damaged by grit, sand, or any other hard objects drawn in through the radiator grille. As more tubes are bent or otherwise damaged, the surface area for cooling is steadily reduced. Once enough tubes have been damaged, your radiator won't be able to cool the hot coolant, and your engine will overheat. We may be able to repair the tubes, or we'll replace the radiator to fix this problem. more High Engine Temperature The temperature gauge on your dash is invaluable, as it provides an early warning of overheating. When your engine is running, the heat level inside it will rapidly build up and the cooling system will intervene to control the rising temperature. When your engine is working correctly, the temperate reading should hover around the center of the gauge. You may see a sudden spike in engine temperature when you accelerate or if you're towing a heavy load and driving uphill. This spike should drop as the cooling system speeds up to compensate. Should you see the temperate gauge rising for no apparent reason, you could have a radiator or cooling system problem. We advise calling us ASAP, so our technicians can investigate and fix the problem. Coolant Leak Coolant plays a vital role in your engine, as it's responsible for capturing the excess engine heat and removing it from your engine. This liquid continually flows through the engine at high speed and under high pressure. Coolant can easily reach temperatures of 300 F before it's cooled in the radiator, and these temperatures can eventually result in wear and tear in the cooling system. The two obvious signs of a coolant leak are a steadily increasing engine temperature and a pool of blue, pink, green, or yellow fluid underneath your car. If you're experiencing either of these problems, we advise calling our service department ASAP so we can trace and repair the leak. If your engine temperature is too high, call us immediately at Medford Motors!

As the clock strikes 4:30, the doors of the Simek Center open to a flood of fish-hungry enthusiasts. The scent of crispy, golden-fried Cod wafts through the air, making stomachs growl with anticipation. The Medford community has been buzzing about this event for weeks, and it's finally here. As you step up to the counter, you're greeted by friendly faces and the sound of sizzling fish. You can practically taste the crispy batter as you place your order for the hand-breaded Cod, a side of homemade coleslaw, and a cheesy potato. The volunteers are busy at work, plating up steaming hot meals with lightning speed. more For those who prefer a lighter option, the broiled Cod is equally delicious. Each team will have the opportunity to play at least four games throughout the weekend, providing excellent value for money and ample time on the ice. Welcome to the 10th Annual Maple Festival hosted by the Taylor County Lions, known as Maple Fest! This year, the festival will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Simek Recreation Center located in Medford, Wisconsin. Since the Sugar Maple is the Wisconsin State Tree, the festival will highlight the various attributes of the Maple tree, including Maple syrup production, Maple-flavored food products, wood crafts, tourism, and green space beautification. The festival will offer various events throughout the day, such as Maple syrup judging, cooking with pure Maple syrup, and Maple syrup tapping techniques. Additionally, the Chequamegon National Forest is home to many Sugar Maples, and Taylor County boasts numerous "Sugar Shacks" that process Maple syrup. more The festivities will commence at 7:30 am with a pancake breakfast topped with pure Maple syrup, complemented by maple sausage and ham. Crafters will also showcase their items featuring products from the Sugar Maple. Moreover, there will be a Maple syrup judging contest, demonstrations on tapping Maple trees, and dealers exhibiting items to help attendees start tapping their own Maple trees. The day's activities will include Sugar Shack tours, food stands featuring Maple-flavored products, music, chainsaw sculpture demonstrations, free children's bike drawings, and peddle tractor fun. Door prizes will also be awarded, including the distribution of 500 Sugar Maple trees! Additionally, the Taylor County Lions Clubs are inviting youth aged 12 and below, including classrooms and their teachers/parents and members of youth groups such as Scouts and 4-H and their leaders/parents, to take part in the Maple Festival Float/Rolling Billboard Competition. This event is a joint effort of the Gilman, Jump River, Medford, Rib Lake, and Whittlesey Lions Clubs, and the funds raised during this event will support community projects and State and International Lions projects. The thought of a transmission repair is scary for many drivers, as they immediately imagine a huge repair bill. In most cases, repairing a transmission can be quick and inexpensive. The key to a scare-free repair is contacting your Ford dealer as soon as you notice something wrong. Your transmission will always give you a warning that it's in trouble. These are some of the problems we need to repair immediately if they occur. Delayed Shifting Your transmission shifts according to the dictates of your transmission computer. The computer analyses vast amounts of information to determine exactly when and what position the transmission should shift into. Once it's decided, the movement should be smooth, and the transmission will remain in that position until it's shifted again. One of the signs of a failing transmission is a delay between the transmission shifting and the gears reacting to the shift. This isn't particularly noticeable when it starts, but it will become more pronounced as time passes. One of the main reasons for this delay is a lack of transmission fluid. This fluid provides the hydraulic power that enables the gears to shift. We'll examine your transmission and fix the problem. Burning Rubber Smell Transmission fluid provides several essential functions in transmission. As we've seen, the fluid provides hydraulic power for the gears. This fluid also helps to reduce the temperature in the transmission and to protect components against friction damage. Transmission fluid needs to be replaced at regular intervals, or it will develop problems. The old fluid becomes more sluggish, and it absorbs dirt and other debris in the transmission.
