Trim Levels (Exterior)
The exterior of the Lightning features modern enhancements such as sleek and crisp lines, C-shaped headlights, and sporty wheels. Instead of a traditional grille, the Lightning comes equipped with an air deflector that provides a sophisticated look.
Ford offers the Lightning in the Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trims.
Engine (Power)
The F-150 Lightning is available with two battery options. The standard range battery produces 426 horsepower and offers 230 miles of driving range, while the extended range battery produces 563 horsepower and offers 300 miles of driving range.
Performance
The F-150 Lightning comes standard with four-wheel drive and four drive modes: Normal, Sport, Off-Road, and Tow/Haul. Thanks to its powerful battery packs and electric motor, the F-150 Lightning reaches a speed of 60 mph in approximately 4.4 seconds.
Additionally, for trailers or heavier cargo, the Lightning sports a tow rating of 10,000 pounds on the XLT and Lariat trims when drivers opt for the extended range battery and add a tow package.
The Lightning can charge using a Level 2 charger, which drivers will have to install at home. Drivers can also charge the Lightning with the available Ford Charge Station Pro, which comes standard on extended range battery models. This method of charging allows the Lightning to fully charge in 10 hours. If using a Level 3 DC fast charger, the Lightning charges approximately 54 miles per minute.
Amazingly, if an emergency arises and your home loses power, the Lightning (on a full charge) can provide power to your house for up to three days.
Interior
The Lightning sports a spacious and cozy cabin, with plenty of room for passengers and any gear. The interior also includes advanced technology features such as a 12-inch instrument cluster, a 12-inch touch screen for information and entertainment, FordPass application software, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 360-degree camera.
Upper-level Lariat and Platinum trims feature a huge 15.5-inch touch screen for information and entertainment with Ford's SYNC 4 technology. Available interior features include a push button start, leather seats, heated and cooled front seats, an adjustable power driver's seat, and a B&O sound system.
Additionally, without the large engine of a traditional pickup truck, the Lightning offers an enormous front trunk under the hood. Drivers can lock, wash, and drain the front trunk, and it provides 14 cubic feet of space for all kinds of cargo. The trunk also offers a few 120-volt power outlets, so you can have power on any adventure.
Safety Features
Standard safety features include pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert, a lane keeping system, a rearview camera, automatic high beam headlights, a reverse sensing system, reverse brake assist, and post-collision braking.
Available safety features include Ford BlueCruise hands-free driving technology, driver assist, active park assist, intelligent adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and steering assist.
