Exploring the Trim Levels of the 2025 Ford Expedition

The all-new 2025 Ford Expedition has had a proper makeover: a fresh face up front, a nifty split tailgate out back, a gloriously inviting interior, and a streamlined trim lineup, now down from ten to just four. Here’s what each one has to offer:

1. Active

The Active, the Expedition’s new base model, delivers a solid mix of familiar and fresh features. It has that 400-horsepower V6, the fully boxed frame, and all the smooth handling you need with its multi-link independent rear suspension and stabilizing bars.

Inside, it’s all about keeping the family happy and comfortable. Sure, there are 15 beverage holders (because snacks and drinks never end), but there’s more to it than that. You’ll find eight seats, easy third-row access, an available pass-through for fishing poles or hockey sticks, an optional powered console that slides for extra space or easier access, and many other thoughtful touches.

2. Tremor

The tough-as-it-sounds Tremor brings serious off-road chops to the lineup. The model gains standard four-wheel drive, a locking rear differential, all-terrain tires, skid plates, 10.6 inches of extra ground clearance, and clever tech like Trail Turn Assist, which reduces your turning radius by applying brakes to the inside wheel. Plus, it’s equipped with a higher-output version of the V6 engine.

3. King Ranch

The next trim up is the King Ranch, which, as the name implies, brings true luxury (the King part) and a hearty splash of ruggedness (the Ranch part). You’ll love the heated and ventilated mahogany-colored Del Rio leather seats, the Mesa Del Rio leather armrests, and the distinctive stitching that runs throughout.

Other highlights include a 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen Unleashed sound system, a panoramic vista roof over the first and second rows, second-row captain’s chairs, and a heated steering wheel, just to name a few. Frankly, it’s easier to list what it doesn’t have!

4. Platinum

Think of the Platinum as the King Ranch trading its cowboy boots for dress shoes. It keeps nearly all the luxury but trades the Western-inspired style for a more modern vibe. It also adds exclusive perks, like multi-contour seats with active motion massage.
